Bilateral meeting between the Republic of Moldova and Malta regarding financial information

The Director of the FIU Moldova, Mr. Andrian Munteanu, held a meeting with the Director of Malta’s Financial Intelligence Unit, Mr. Alfred Zammit, during which they discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of preventing and combating money laundering and terrorist financing.

The discussions provided an opportunity for an open and constructive dialogue regarding current challenges associated with illicit financial activities, the exchange of experience and best practices, and the further development of collaborative relations between the two institutions.

In this context, it was highlighted that, over the past few years, the Service’s staff have benefited from study visits to the FIAU Malta headquarters—activities that have contributed to strengthening institutional capacities and leveraging the experience gained within a professional setting.

The meeting reaffirmed the two institutions' shared commitment to promoting bilateral cooperation, exchanging expertise, and developing sustainable partnerships within their field of activity.
