Workshop for dealers in precious metals on implementation of the new provisions of the AML/CFT Law and its subordinated acts

On 25 of September 2018, the Assay Chamber as a self - regulatory body for pawnshop and dealers in precious metals and goods in cooperation with the Office for prevention and fight against money laundering, with assistance of EU High Level Advisor, Igoris Krijakowskis organized a workshop for dealers in precious metals on implementation of the new provisions of the AML/CFT Law and its subordinated acts.

An increased attention has been given to the threats and vulnerabilities identified at the national and sectorial level as a result of the AML/CFT National risk Assessment, to the recent subordinate acts of the AML/CFT Law drafted by the Assay Chamber and to settlement of practical issues emerging from the AML/CFT Law enforcement process.

The participants addressed questions on the practical implementation of the provisions of the Law by that proven an increased interest to the application of the AML/CFT preventive measures.

In this context, the cooperation of the Office for prevention and fight against money laundering with the Assay Chamber as well as the open dialog with the reporting entities dealers in precious metals and stones is constantly developing in order to enhance the efforts of prevention and fight against money laundering and terrorist financing with the involvement of the DNFPBs.
