Regional seminar - "AML/CFT Risk-based approach of professional participants on the non-banking financial market "

OPFML representatives, together with the supervisory institutions representatives - the Assay Chamber, the Public Services Agency, the Notary Chamber, the Lawyers' Union participated in the regional seminar entitled "Risk-based approach to combating money laundering and terrorist financing of other professional participants on the non-banking financial market ", held from 22 to 23 November 2018 in Istanbul, Turkey.
This event was organized by the Council of Europe and is part of the Partnership for Good Governance Program, which was attended by representatives of the supervisory authorities of professional participants in the non-banking financial market in the Eastern Partnership jurisdictions (Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus , Ukraine).
The seminar aimed to make supervisors more efficient in supervising the prevention and combating of money laundering and terrorism financing in line with the risk-based approach.
Thus, the topics discussed were related to the assessment of money laundering and terrorist financing risks and the risk-based approach, with case studies, practical exercises, relevant standards and concepts on risk-based supervision, institutional risk assessment, etc. .
At the same time, there were presented practical information regarding the elaboration of specific risk matrices, aspects of the process of analysis and investigation of money laundering cases, especially from illegal activities, were discussed.
In the context of the presented, it is necessary to mention that the actuality of the issues addressed was an added value for the specific activity of the Service, including the supervision activity and the trends in the field, being combined with the practical aspects of the experience of the experts from other countries.
