The 4-th Global Conference on Criminal Finance and Cryptocurrencies
On November 18 and 19, the OPFML's representatuves participated in the 4-th Global Conference on Criminal Finance and Cryptocurrencies, co-organized online by INTERPOL, EUROPOL and the Basel Institute on Governance.
The conference aimed to facilities international cooperation and awareness of the importance of developing effective methods and rapid response to detect virtual asset flows of illegal origin.
The event focused on effective methods of investigating crimes associated with money laundering and the operating principles of „blockchain” technologies, inclusively tracking the origin of virtual assets and identifying the beneficial owner.
The experts presented the methods of investigation based on case studies developed by international organizations jointly with Financial Intelligence Units from Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Korea, the United States and others.
